There are many different types of timber cladding available; I want my buildings to blend into the surroundings and be a subtle addition to the landscape so I need to use a timber cladding which mimics some of the surroundings. From visiting the site I know that there are lots of trees on the south side of the site, but there is also lots of ivy on the railings on the north side, which could be used as inspiration for the cladding style.
Trees on the south bank of the site
Ivy on the railings
I have found a shingle-type cladding which could be seen as similar to the ivy or like the leaves of the trees as they are all individual pieces.

For the walkways between the different hides in my design I think that I need to have quite high walls/ railings which will create a sound barrier to prevent scaring the wildlife. I have looked at different timber cladding options and I think that vertical timber cladding will blend into the landscape best as it mimics the tree trunks on the south of the site.
