This post if about the documentary: The Russian Revolutionary: Zaha Hadid on Kazimir
Malevich, BBC, 2014.
The documentary talks about how Kazmir Malevic's artwork inspired Zaha Hadid's architecture through the suprematist movement in Russia in the early 20th century. One of the main pieces which was talked about was the 'Black Square' which was a revolutionary piece of art when it was made, not only through the painting but also through its display in exhibition; it was displayed where the Russians would display symbols, usually religious.
This documentary focused more on the work of the work of the artist than the work of the architect, which I was disappointed about; I thought that it would be more about Hadid and her work. I did find it interesting, however, it was interesting to see how art has affected how Hadid deigns and presents her architecture.
