The text for this post is: Bauhaus, by Siebenbrodt, Michael & Schöbe, Lutz (2012) [electronic resource] (pp 188-204 and 238-240).
This reading is about the Bauhaus and the architects who were part of it, before it closed in the 1930s. The text looks at Walter Gropius, Hannes Meyer and Mies van Der Rohe as the principle architects of the Bauhaus throughout its existence. The second part of the reading is looking at the effect and reaction to the Bauhaus and how if influenced the architecture of the time and today.
I found the text interesting as I did not know much about Gropius and Meyer before reading it and I now want to go and find out more about their work, especially Gropius as may of his works are described as 'visionary'. I think that this will help me in my designing as the text gives lots of their works which I can use as precedents for my Design Studio module.
